This will be an abbreviated post due to a technical difficulty I experienced last night. The trauma I experienced is real, but I have done my best to dry my eyes and move on. Let's discuss cocktails in St. Louis. We have a wealth of good options but I'm going to focus more on cocktail centric and centered vs. restuarants that make really good cocktails (of which there are many). Cheers!
Planter's House - Lafayette Square
The OG, 2019 James Beard Award Finalist
Taste - Central West End (RIP)
This was on my list before they announced their closure so I'm including it to pay my respects.
Brennan's - Central West End
Lots of drama the last few years with a move and fire but they are back and looking better than ever.
The Royale Food & Spirits - South Kingshighway
On a bit of an island location-wise, but great patio and Branden will tell you they make the best Manhattan in St. Louis and it's only $9.
The Lazy Tiger - Central West End
In a small slice of real estate around the corner from Yellowbelly. Inventive and classic cocktails with traditional ingredients and "experimental applications." Full Yellowbelly menu available.
Retreat Gastropub - Central West End
This probaby qualifies more as a restaurant but the cocktail menu is prodigious and there are a few on the list that have notoriety in St. Louis like the Oaxaca Flocka Flame which is reason enough to put it on the list.
